The Friday Gallery - Brandi Powell
Brandi's colors are so alive and vibrant. Even when dealing with darker imagery there is an overt hint of the beauty found there. Her sight Visual Awakenings aptly describes her work. They are visually awakening, they are live, and bright, and beautiful. There is just as much whimsy as well as the sensualness of the human form.

I really like these. The colors are so pleasing to the eyes. The pinks are vibrant and the purples remind me of my garden flowers.
Tanya
I liked those colors too, the last one was really vibrant!
Nice, especially Violet Dreams, which is simply beautiful. Thanks for pointing this stuff out Rev.
I really liked the first one. I think it is a question that is constantly in the back of our minds... who am I, and I being who I am meant to be, is there more that I can be, who am I really? Is this me? anyhow ~ that picture really in a very lovely soft way, prods those thoughts! :)
Tanya,
That was one of the first things that drew me to her work. In a generation painting dark matters, she has chosen to do much lighter subjects, and still manage to keep from being trite.
Lutherpunk,
Am I seeing your softer side? Who would have thought you were capable?
Sprite,
I am glad it sparked something in you. That is what I want to do is show how art is still meaningful.
Andrea,
I could have done better, it feels lacking my description.
I love the purples in those, thanks for showing us Cubey.
Thank you SO much for featuring my work and for your comments which are sooo kind! This means a lot to me right now as I have been searching for a style but think I might actually have one already and didnt realize it. You are so kind to feature my work! Thank you everyone else for your wonderful comments!

Brandi,
I would like to see art and expression take a forefront into our lives again. Whether literature or music or books. I want to see people look beyond the popular and dig a little deeper. There are bands that will not get their shot because they do not have a look or a tv show, books that don't get read because their stories have a greater level of depth thant pop trash.
But that's just me I suppose.
I told you Brandi YOU have "IT" Your paintings are Beauty Full!!! I thought this was the BBQ guy! LOL
I'm a frequent visitor of Brandi's art blog, and realy admire her style and her openess to grow as an artist. As Bob Dylan said "an artist must always be in state of becoming," (which is my favorite quote) and Brandi is a fine example of that.
Speaking of bands not getting their shot - there's an amazing musician out there - Jimmy Gnecco of band Ours - who deserves so much more recognition...it is really upsetting.
Turqoise,
Yep, I'm the BBQ guy, I think with my stomach, typical right? I do agree, her art has "IT".
Oziskin,
That is well put, too many times artists get locked into a certain mold and never get out of it, resulting in their work becoming stale. I think she only has great things ahead of her. I'll have to make sure to check out that band, thanks for the heads up.
My mother, Donna, plays online computer games with your husband, Jason. I love your artwork, especially "Fallen Angel" "Follow Your Dream" and "Beeswax Orange"
It's very inspiring.
