The Gospel According To Oprah

Holy cow! I cannot believe how far she has come! She is actually at a point where she is influencing peoples religious beliefs. This is scary. Hat tip to Pulpit-Pimps.

Why are you so afraid of Oprah? I'm sure she doesn't believe in you either :-)

I am suspect of anyone promoting a path that leads them to the rest of us buying in and giving them tremendous personal wealth. Eckhart Tolle seems to be such a person. But doesn't those in the prosperity gospel do just that, too?

I dunno. I guess that's why I want to become a monk in some ancient and forgotten monastery.

But I'm not afraid of Oprah and her beliefs, nor am I willing to boycott and turn off my tv. My faith is not informed by such things.

I abide in the spirit, I go to church, and I'm part of a community. That's where I continue to see God revealed as opposed to some book or tv show.

Thanks for posting this, though.

I'm not afraid of Oprah. But I think I am a bit naive about how powerful and influential people can be.
